Counseling for mentally ill refugees and immigrants

Have you fled or immigrated to Germany alone or with your family? Have you had experiences in your home country, on the run or in Germany that you can no longer get out of your head and keep reliving? Are you perhaps unable to sleep at night? Are you often afraid? Are you nervous and do you have physical complaints or pain?

Psychological help

Refugees often have traumatic experiences behind them and suffer from mental stress or illness as a result. This is where psychological counseling for refugees can help.

The social psychiatric centers (SPZ) offer initial orientation and help for traumatized refugees with their low-threshold services. There you can receive advice on your social situation and your mental health, talk about your worries and meet other people. You can also take advantage of one of the many services on offer, or simply have a cup of coffee or tea.

Do you still find the German language very difficult? The SPC staff can call in professional language mediators who speak your language.

Self-help

Self-help also offers advice for mentally ill refugees and immigrants.

Self-help is an association of people who have had the same experiences and support each other, for example by sharing experiences or information.
