Mental stress and addiction

Mental stress and mental illness can have a variety of causes. Regardless of age, gender or nationality, they can affect anyone.

This also applies to the development of addiction and dependent behavior.

Addiction is a recognized disease and everyone has the right to help and treatment.

Counseling services can provide important support and orientation through information.

As a rule, they are aimed specifically at children, young people and families or adults.

The OEG trauma outpatient clinics provide specialized services for victims of violence.

There are also special regional care services aimed at older people (over 55 or 65).

To ensure that people with a refugee or migrant background also have access to advice and treatment, the LVR funds language and integration mediators in many cases where German language skills are not yet sufficient.
