Promotion of work assistance

What is work assistance?

As a severely disabled person, you may be dependent on assistance in your day-to-day work. You yourself have the professional qualifications required at your workplace and perform the core area of your contractual or statutory duties yourself. However, due to your severe disability, you need regular support at work that goes beyond occasional assistance.

You are the client and employ your assistant as an employer (employer model) or agree a corresponding service with a third party, e.g. a professional assistance service (service model).

Where can I submit an application?

If your workplace is located in the Rhineland, you can submit an application to the LVR Inclusion Office.

You can find the application here.

What requirements must be met?

  • You have a recognized severe disability or equal status from the employment agency.
  • All priority options have already been exhausted, such as the adaptation of technical equipment, work organization and the allocation of tasks.
  • You are employed in a workplace within the meaning of Section 156 SGB IX with a regular weekly working time of at least 15 hours.
  • Your employment relationship is permanent or temporary with a duration of employment of more than eight weeks. You may also be eligible for funding if you are self-employed.
