Employment for people with disabilities in a workshop or with another provider

Are you unable or not yet able to work on the general labor market? Then you can find meaningful employment in a workshop for people with disabilities (WfbM) or with another service provider.

Workshops are open to adults with mental, psychological and physical disabilities. The task of every workshop is to enable all employees to participate fully in working life through individual support. Employment in a workshop for people with disabilities offers meaningful, socially insured employment and a clear structure for the day, the opportunity to get to know colleagues and receive individual support. You will also be paid for your work, although this is usually not comparable to wages on the general labor market.

To find employment in a workshop for people with disabilities, you must submit an application to the employment agency or the LVR, depending on the individual case. Our LVR case management team will be happy to advise you on all aspects of the application process.

Are you looking for an alternative to employment in a workshop? You can decide for yourself where you want to make use of the support services for participation in working life. Other service providers offer you an alternative to a workshop job with inclusive employment in various sectors. However, this offer is only slowly emerging in the Rhineland. So far, there are only a few other providers in the Rhineland.

Similar to a workshop, the LVR checks whether you are entitled to this support service and determines your individual needs. An application is also required for this. Our LVR case management team will be happy to advise you.
